"Most men come to us after they have either stopped finasteride because of side effects, or refused it from the start. My role is not to push another drug. It is to design a protocol around your scalp, your stage of hair loss, and what you are willing to stick to for the next 12 months."
MBBS graduate (2013) with a surgical training background. Dr Samantha assesses each case individually. She will tell you directly if you are not a candidate for the Calecim protocol and what alternatives make more sense for your stage of hair loss.

What Men Tell Us
Most men notice hair loss years before they act on it. By the time they walk into a consultation, the part has widened, the temples have crept back, and they have quietly tried most of the over-the-counter options.
Meeting-room lighting and bathroom mirrors give the real picture. The part has widened, and you notice it in every photo taken from above.
Sexual side effects, mood changes, or the idea of a daily systemic hormone blocker for the rest of your life pushed you off the medication.
Twice-a-day foam for life. Scalp irritation. The shedding phase no one warned you about. You are looking for a protocol you can actually maintain.
You are not ready for FUE surgery. You want a middle path that buys time and supports what is still there, without incisions or scarring risk.
The Protocol
Calecim Advanced Hair System is a cell-free regenerative protocol. The active ingredient, PTT-6, is a proprietary extract from the umbilical cord lining of ethically-sourced New Zealand red deer. It contains mesenchymal stem cell-derived proteins, exosomes, and growth factors (VEGF, FGF, PDGF, IGF, HGF) that play documented roles in the hair growth cycle.
The Science
Calecim is a Singapore-developed regenerative serum made from proteins and growth factors derived from mesenchymal stem cells. It is not a stem cell injection. What goes on your scalp is the biochemical signal those cells naturally release (growth factors, cytokines, and exosomes), delivered through microneedling.
PTT-6 contains VEGF, FGF, PDGF, IGF, and HGF. These are the same growth factors your follicles rely on during a healthy hair cycle.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the scalp so the serum reaches the follicular level, not just the skin surface.
Exosomes in the serum have been shown in laboratory studies to reduce inflammatory markers in skin cells, supporting a calmer scalp environment.
What Happens Over 6 Months
Per session. T&Cs apply. Full programme cost reviewed at consultation.
Dr Sam assesses your hair loss stage, scalp condition, and prior treatments. Not everyone is a candidate. She will tell you directly if the protocol is not the right fit.
Sessions every 2 weeks, 6 sessions total. Most of the follicle stimulation work happens in this window. Microneedling, PTT-6 serum, and red light therapy per session.
Sessions taper as your scalp response stabilises. At month 6, an honest review with Dr Sam. If the protocol is working for you, we discuss maintenance. If not, we discuss alternatives.
How The Options Compare
This comparison describes treatment methods, not relative clinical superiority. Each option has its place. Calecim is a cosmeceutical regenerative protocol, not a replacement for medical treatments where those are clinically indicated.
Blocks DHT hormone conversion. Strong RCT evidence for male pattern baldness. Daily tablet indefinitely. Published side effects include sexual dysfunction and mood changes.
Vasodilator that prolongs the anagen growth phase. Strong RCT evidence. Twice-daily foam indefinitely. Published side effects include scalp irritation and tachycardia.
Growth factors drawn from your own blood. Moderate evidence, 12+ clinical trials reviewed. 3 to 6 sessions, then maintenance. Minor side effects from the blood draw and scalp injections.
Surgical relocation of your own follicles. Strong evidence, permanent results for the transplanted hair. One-off surgery. Surgical risks include infection, scarring, and necrosis.
Red light therapy shown in RCTs to slow loss and encourage regrowth in male pattern baldness. Non-invasive. Often used as an adjunct inside broader protocols, including Calecim.
Growth factors and exosomes from mesenchymal stem cells, delivered via microneedling. Evidence currently limited to case-report-level data (not for male pattern baldness specifically). Non-hormonal, drug-free, non-invasive. No published systemic side effects.
What to Expect
A straightforward, no-pressure process from consultation to month-6 review. Designed around you, not a fixed package.
Dr Samantha assesses your hair loss stage, scalp condition, and prior treatments. She tells you directly if you are not a candidate for the Calecim protocol.
Each session is a three-step sequence: microneedling on the scalp, PTT-6 growth factor serum application, and red light therapy. Sessions every two weeks in the intensive phase.
At month 6, an honest review with Dr Sam. If the protocol is working, we discuss tapered maintenance. If not, we discuss alternatives, including referral where appropriate.
The Nexus Difference
Dr Samantha Tay delivers every session herself. The assessment, the needling depth, the serum concentration, and the protocol adjustments are medical decisions.
No daily pill, no systemic hormone blocker, no prescription foam. The protocol relies on growth factors and mechanical delivery, not pharmaceutical intervention.
Not every case is suitable for Calecim. Dr Sam tells you at consultation if the protocol is unlikely to help your stage of hair loss, and what alternatives make more sense.
A 30-minute conversation with Dr Sam. You leave with a clear number and a protocol only if both sides agree it fits. The decision is always yours.
At month 6, an honest review. The protocol either works for your case or it does not. If it does not, Dr Sam is comfortable telling you and recommending alternatives.
Your hair loss stage, scalp condition, prior treatments, and willingness to commit determine the session cadence, not a fixed package.
Where the Evidence Stands
Calecim is a regenerative cosmeceutical, not a pharmaceutical drug approved for the treatment of male pattern baldness. Peer-reviewed evidence for Calecim specifically is currently limited to case-report-level data for other forms of hair loss (telogen effluvium and cicatricial alopecia). Large randomised controlled trials for male pattern baldness have not yet been published.
Finasteride and minoxidil remain the treatments with the most RCT evidence for male pattern hair loss. Hair transplantation remains the evidence-based choice for late-stage baldness. Calecim is positioned as a doctor-led, non-hormonal, non-surgical option for men who have stopped, refused, or never started those medications.
We state this clearly because it is the honest position, and because Singapore HCSA advertising rules require it.
